1) The walls. It seems like the homeowners facing Culver may get an additional ten feet or so deeded to them behind their backyards as well as a new wall. All at the city's expense. With this in mind, the board felt that we ought not to consider repairing walls facing Culver.
2) The lights in the park. For the last two months we have had a four globe fixture in the Grossmont park as a demonstration of what the rest of the lights for the Grossmont and Emporia Parks would look like. The board and most everybody seemed to be happy with it. Louis Shaver asked to see if a three globe fixture could be installed instead. According to Jason Cleveland there is little if any cost difference between the three and four globe fixture. The board tabled the discussion at that time.
The Annual Meeting
After a very nasty election, what with those slanderous anonymous flyers
on the weekend of November 13 and 14, there was a pretty big turnout.
All of the candidates -but Earl and Omar Kadaster- spoke. Omar Kadaster
and Jim Gibbons were absent. The Board attorney was present.
Most people showed up with one or two ballots. Paul Jones showed up with a very large wad of proxies which he personally presented to Jason. It is my understanding that over 170 homes voted in this election which must be a recent vote record and showed some interest on this election.
In any event, despite a record turnout, the incumbents won reelection. The order of voting was Earl, Carol, Omar, Tony, Alisa and so on. I don't have the exact numbers, perhaps they will be included in the next newsletter, if not I will dig them up somehow.
Thanks to every one that voted.
